Frequently Asked Questions

tecsol school lets australia Teacher
How do you find out my English level?

tecsol school lets australia GirlIt depends on the course. For the LETS Talk Course, either you will have an interview with a teacher, or during the trial lesson, a teacher determines your level. For the General English course, there is a grammar exam (and another at the end of the course, so that you can see how much your grammar has improved). For the TECSOL courses taught in English, it is necessary to pass our TECSOL Entry Test, which includes listening, writing and speaking. The TECSOL courses in Japanese require only an interview like the LETS Talk courses. The TOEIC and Phonics courses don't require any test, but it is advised that people choosing these courses have at least an Intermediate level of English.

What is the main difference between teaching at a Private English school and at a Primary School?

tecsol school lets australia boyThe biggest difference is the number of students. At private English schools, the average number of the students in a class are usually around 8 to 12. However, at primary schools, there are usually more than 30 in a class. Therefore, classroom management is quite different.  Although private English schools usually focus on teaching the English language, primary schools in Japan focus on familiarity with international cultures, not just English.

If I have any questions about my English or English studies, what can I do?
